Chapter Twelve

T

he sun was setting just below the trees when Anthony and Virmont finished up on training, but not before the bubble had come back out to join them in their sword fight as Anthony pretended to be the enemy, who was out to try and kill Virmont. Virmont and the bubble worked together on trying to defeat him. The main duty for the bubble was to protect Virmont, and Virmont’s main duty was to take Anthony down, which worked when the bubble spun around him making him dizzy until he actually fell into the river while Virmont pointed his stick at his head. This impressed Anthony to the point he took it a step further and brought in real swords that he had back at the cabin.

Unlike play swords, like the one Virmont used at the festival, or sticks that he used before this, a real sword was a lot heavier and not as easy to swing around. It was definitely an arm workout as it was not like swinging a baseball bat. Yet once Anthony taught him how to hold it and use it while being careful, Virmont quickly picked up on what to do. And with the help of his Water Ahmainian bubble he was able to do things even Anthony was surprised at as he too was learning with Virmont at the same time. The bubble could take any shape it wanted, however big it wanted, as its watery current rushed around inside its walls made of water to prevent anything from getting near Virmont. It was so strong it put Anthony’s most powerful flame out like a candle in a hurricane.

Even the river reacted to the bubble as it kicked in almost as if it was aiding it to win, while remaining playful, knowing this was only training and not the real thing. It was very powerful for playing pretend, and obviously it would have been able to do some serious life-altering damage if this was a real situation. It was as if the bubble was trying not only to prove to Virmont that it was probably the most powerful element out there, but also that it would do anything to help and protect him. This started a bond only Anthony could recognize as being like twins; a two in one connection.

When the training was finally over, Virmont was eager to start again tomorrow.

It didn’t hit him until he got back to the cabin, however, that tomorrow would be twenty-four hours since Ray had taken Anthony’s place. So now he was more interested in that, to the point, when the early morning came, Virmont was already up and heading out toward the castle before Anthony was awake.

At the castle, the king wasn’t sure if he wanted to let Ray go but given that his daughter had learned the motive behind his actions, there was no point in keeping him, since now nothing was going to happen. It would have been one thing if only
